On the surface, the North Shore Channel is a lively manmade river ecosystem for humans and nonhumans alike. It also serves as the channel that flushes the storm and wastewater of the city’s wealthy northern suburbs south and eventually out of the city toward the Mississippi. North Shore Channel is a subtle, expressionistic micro-film that travels within and beyond the channel to reflect on the city’s hydraulic infrastructure as a paradox of vibrancy and horror.
